We love pets too
/If you go to any third party listing you will see that our property is listed as “not pet friendly” and we do this so that guests don’t book and bring pets without providing us with details before we accept the booking.
We are finding that more and more guests are asking us if they can bring the fury family member too and why wouldn’t you want to bring them? The truth is they wouldn’t care where they were as long as they were with you.
So in short, yes we would love to see you and your pets next time you stay but we ask that you request first and understand and accept the conditions below.

Why you need to request
Here is @cavoodle_thats_teddy who recently had a fabulous time at the property with his family.
If we love pets so much, why do you need to ask? Firstly, not all pets are the same. There are outside dogs, inside dogs, toy dogs, working dogs, puppies that chew, big dogs, small dogs….you get the point.
Factors to consider
Our lovely interiors and linens - we have tried hard to furnish the residence with quality products and materials like linen, which is often hard to clean.
Fencing - whilst we have fences, the property is large and it is extremely easy for pets to run off or stray into neighbouring properties that may have livestock such as sheep, cows or even chickens.
Wildlife - we have tried to use as little chemicals as possible on our pocket of land to attract the native wildlife. We don’t spray for spiders and we have an insect garden and keep bees to attract the bird life. We also have several families of king skinks that call Birdwood home.

We’ve teamed up with mog & bone to provide your furry family with some luxury product to use during their stay.
Our Pet kit contains the following;
Dog Fleece Blanket - this blanket is washed between our guests and must be used over the pet bed for protection at all times.
2 x Handmade Ceramic Dog Bowls for food and water - please be respectful of other guests and do not let your pets eat from the human dishes.
The pet kit comes in a small and medium size - please make sure you request the pet kit in advance.

The rules
Pets are only permitted with the prior consent of the owner of Birdwood Estate. An additional accommodation charge may be made for pets.
We can only accommodate a maximum of 2 pets at any one time.
Where pets are permitted, they are to be kept under control at all times.
We can not accept responsibility for pet safety.
Guests agree not to leave pets unsupervised or alone at the property at any time.
Pets are not permitted to swim in any of the dams, the pool or the fountain.
Pets should be cleaned and fully dried off before being allowed to enter the property after being outside.
Pets are not permitted on the furniture at any time.
Please be respectful of other guests and do not let your pets eat from the human dishes.
Guests must dispose of pet faeces and this is to be done in a clean and sanitary manner.
Guests agree to bring their own pet bedding, food bowls and other pet items to the property as, unless specified, these items will not be available at the property unless the pet kit is requested.
If extra cleaning is required as a result of a guest having pets in the property, this may be deducted from the Security Bond.
The guest is liable for any damage caused by pets whether inside or outside the property as well as a loss of income (if applicable).
Guests should ensure that any arrangements in place for pets at a property, including these terms, are suitable for their pet prior to booking.
